New
Workshops from SHOC Foundation!
"Women in
Transition: A Rainbow Journey" is a series of
workshops or wellness events created for cancer
survivors. Through the use of a child's story,
the whimsy and delight of the characters of "The
Wizard of Oz,” and carefully developed
interactive exercises, cancer survivors and
their support partners will learn new ways to
cope with their changed lives. Participants will
celebrate together the gift of today, as they
travel on a very special journey of discovery
“over the rainbow.” The “yellow brick road” will
lead them to encountering effective ways to
embrace their emotional selves, calm anxiety,
respond to life's uncertainties, and develop a
hope-filled perspective.
The first
workshop is forthcoming.t the SHOC Foundation
in Gladstone. For more information contact

Empowerment Walk 2009 !
Online Registration Now Open!
We've finalized the schedule for next year's
Empowerment Walk which will be held August
1st, 2009. Team Latus Motors Harley
Davidson in Gladstone will once again be our
anchor and starting location for the Fifth
Annual Empowerment Walk.
Recently the
Sherie Hildreth Ovarian Cancer Foundation
held its annual
Empowerment
Walk meant to raise funds for ovarian
cancer research in Gladstone, Oregon.
Founder Sherie Hildreth was ecstatic at
seeing ever greater number of participants
each year her non-profit organization has
put on the
Empowerment Walk. While no
official numbers have been tabulated Sherie
is confident this year's event "blew last
year out of the water!"
Several walking teams helped push the total
higher including Flugtagers "Funky
4 + 1 More" and the
Lake Oswego chapter of LeTip, a business
networking organization of whom husband
Bruce Hildreth is a member. "I am
extremely thankful for the concern and
support of my LeTip team."
The SHOC Foundation presents several
fundraising opportunities throughout the
year and sister organization,
Hats of Empowerment, raises funds
through sales of hats and related
merchandise.

Walk, fill out the subscription form
